I've been fooling around with a preamp that I just picked up on the cheap, and it's a bit different than what I'm used to.
Usually, I go out the left and right OUTs on the preamp to the left/right INs on my FX unit, and then L/R from the FX into the power amp and a pair of 1x15s. With this new preamp, there is no left and right out - only a single line out. Question: is it possible to get a stereo signal at all? Right now, the best that I can do is to run only through one output on the power amp, and that splits the signal (in mono) to both speakers, although one speaker is very dominant.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Steve, I would think a simple Y adapter from the single output of the preamp would work fine. You only have a mono signal entering it anyway and you would be sending the same mono signal into both sides of the effects unit and then it would process the signal thru both channels of the effects and send a processed signal to both channels of the power amp. I use a TC Electronics preamp this way and it works fine.

Yup - that did it, Jerry. Dumb question - easy answer...
This thing happens to be an older Tubeworks Blue Tube RT-904. It's got Master, Gain, and Contour control in addition to the standard EQ. I'm amazed at how good this thing is. Clean, clean, CLEAN all day long, yet you can dial in as much or as little grit as you like, all the way up to a boosted crunch.
This thing's a keeper.
