Steel player on Jim Reeves LP album?

Post by Uwe Haegg »

I just went through my LP collection of Jim
Reeves albums and I fell over one named "Good `n` country". Of course I had to listen to a couple of numbers and I heard
a very mellow, nice sounding steel guitar on two of the numbers. One is "Don`t let me
cross over" and the other one is "You kept me awake last night". The album must at least be 25 - 30 years old. I know, I bought them when I was about 13. Can anyone help me with the name(s) of the steel player(s) on that album?

Yes it's Pete Drake. He had an unmistakable style. He played on alot of R.C.A. stuff in the early '60's.
