Does DON HELMS ever check-in here?

Post by Ray Montee (RIP) »

Relative to some of Hank Williams' Sr's old recordings: If it ain't Don Helms; and, it ain't JERRY BYRD; WHO IS IT on steel?

Specifically: Wedding Bells; Mind Your Own Business; Move It On Over; Honky Tonk Blues.

I meant to ask Mr. Helms this question while talking with him in St.Louis but forgot what the tunes were. Oh well......

Ray,

Move It On Over; Dale Lohman
Mind Your Own Business; Don Davis
Wedding Bells; Don Davis
Honky Tonk Blues; Don Helms

Don Davis was George Morgans steeler on the road after he hit with Candy Kisses.

Wal, now. Hold on thar a minute !! I seem to recall that he would be looking over Bobbe's shoulder and telling him what to write so he is here at times in that sort of fashion. I don't know if he has a schedule at the new facilities but he used to show up pretty regular at the old location. If I know Bobbe at all, I'm sure he would pass anything along to Don. He's just that kinda guy.

Regards, Paul
