New Kid on the block

Hello,
I've been reading the Forum now for the last month or so and finally got my membership..I bought a nice Rusler D10 from Stephen O'brien
( a great guy ) and I am now in the proccess of refinishing, and adjusting it....I am new to the world of pedal steel...I am a keyboard player by trade, and also play both electric and acoustic guitar... I'm very proud to be a member with so many accomplished players..I've learned so much in such a short time, and love this instument..Jim

Congrats! on the good start and welcome, Jim, to the friendliest nook on the net... I'm certain you'll get all the help and encouragement you'll ever need from this lot.. I've been on here about a 18 months now, and this is the fastest I've ever picked up an instrument.(I can finally stand to hear meself play) I owe it all to the overwhelming wealth of information supplied by dem dare professional folk.. too many to mention

Sent you an E-mail about Mason Eubanks having an Emmons S-10.Checked with Martin he decided to keep his an sell his an sell his old D-10 instead.

Welcome aboard. Any realtion to Milton and P.J. Quackenbush? PJ's also a HagFan and Milton, last I knew, was playing piano for Mel Tillis and getting it together on steel with the help of Terry Bethel.

A relation somewhere down the line, but no close relative that I know of.... I'm learning myself...I've gotten some wonderful help from Stephen O'brien...He's a great guy, and has really gone the extra mile to get me started with tapes, slide, and other reading material..The forum members have been great !!
I've learned so much already..I have tried to dedicate more time to learning pedal steel..I've always wanted to, and now I mean business !!... I will be posting some of my findings on the Electonics section...I have a huge collection of amps, pedals, and 6 string guitars, as well as bass guitars...I have preamps galore, and will be posting some of my findings in the future....Thanks to all of you for your kindness, and your knowlege..Jim

Ron,unless there has been a very recent move , Milton Quackenbush left Tillis and moved over to the Baldknobbers show in Branson at the start of the 2002 season. As of July 02 he was still there.

Also glad to see a new "Quack" on the forum and another converted keyboard player. If you pull this off as well and as "Quackly" as Milton did,you are going to be good.
